The WC Howe Institute focuses on "Learning Facilitation". Education, teaching or coaching are treated separately. These terms muddy the waters through differing interpretations of their meanings. Many will have their own perspective and misunderstandings of what each means. Clarification and a common understandings are a must so each will be treated separately. We must all be on the same page if we are to move forward to achieve success.

Education has become one of the biggest dilemmas facing us today. 45 years of coaching, being a coaching instructor and 17 years of teaching at the Secondary level (9 - 12) has taught me a great deal, but I have been left with more questions than answers. This is not meant to be a statement of humility, but a fact. As a parent of a child who has moved on to his career, I can also appreciate the efforts and frustrations experienced by parents. In broad research conducted, it appears that our problems have not diminished, but in fact, have reached critical levels. It is hoped that a different, unique voice can add more to the discussion and shed some light on the challenges we all face. The AIM of this institute is to provide insights, information and potential solutions to some of the major issues plaguing our lack of progress. The very fact that we struggle to come up with solutions, or strategies, is perplexing, especially when you consider that we are a community of well educated individuals! It should be noted that this was in place, BEFORE the pandemic.
